Eclipse Swim Lessons - Placement in our programs depends on many variables including age, skill proficiency, previous experience and readiness. The following chart is a guide only. You may also view our comparison chart

Bubbles 1(Parented) 4 months of age & Up, able to hold their head up, and participating with a parent or caregiver (assisted) Babies and their caregivers work on getting wet, buoyancy and movement, rhythmic breathing, front, back and vertical position in the water, and shallow water entries and exits.

Must be 3-5 years old. No previous swimming experience required. Children do not need to be comfortable in the water. The first 50% of the classes will be parented where children learn skills to become comfortable in the water. The second 50% of the classes will be un-parented with the children learning basic skills to move into Bubbles 3 Maximum 4
       

Bubbles 3

(Non Parented)

Must be 3-5 years old. No previous swimming experience required. Must be coachable and comfortable in water. Able to submerge head and exhale underwater, open eyes underwater, float on front and back for 10 seconds and switch between the two, jump into shallow water and climb out of pool, kick on front and back for 5-10 metres, and swim for upto 15 metres or with lifejacket. Maximum 4
     

Splash 1

(Non Parented)

Successful completion of Bubbles 3 Previous skills will continue to be practiced.
Additional Skills: Able to glide in streamline for 5 metres, kick on front and back with board for 50 metres, jump into deep water and climb out, tread water for 15 seconds, swim 15 metres freestyle and backstroke competently, and swim 15 metres sidestroke.

Splash 2

(Non Parented)

Successful completion of Splash 1 Previous skills will continue to be practiced.
Additional Skills: Able to complete 25 metres streamline kick on front and back with fins, dolphin kick for 15 metres, tread water for 30 seconds, complete kneeling dive and stride entry, 50 metres freestyle and backstroke with board, 25 metres freestyle and backstroke swim competently.

Splash 3

(Non Parented)

Successful completion of Splash 2 Previous skills will continue to be practiced.
Additional Skills: Able to swim 50 metres freestyle drill with fins, tread water for 1 minute, 100 metres freestyle kick with board, 50 metres streamline freestyle kick, 50 metres freestyle swim, flip turns, standing dives and underwater dolphin kick.

Successful completion of Splash 3 Previous skills will continue to be practiced.
Additional Skills: Able to swim 50 metres backstroke drill with fins, 100 metres backstroke kick with board, 50 metres backstroke swim, tread water for 1m 30s, backstroke start, stroke count into wall, and underwater dolphin kick on back

Waves 2

(Non Parented)

Successful completion of Waves 1 Previous skills will continue to be practiced.
Additional Skills: Freestyle and Backstroke test sets/races i.e. 4x25@2. Able to scull for 25 metres, 50 metres breaststroke drill with fins, breaststroke kick for 50 metres with board, 25 metres breaststroke swim, tread water with hand above surface for at least 30s, two-hand touch turns, track start, and underwater pull-out.

Waves 3

(Non Parented)

Successful completion of Waves 1 Previous skills will continue to be practiced.
Additional Skills: Freestyle and Backstroke test sets/races i.e. 4x25@1. Able to complete 25 metres of dolphin dives, dolphin kick for 100 metres with fins, swim 50 metres butterfly drill with fins, 25 metres butterfly swim, can perform a relay takeover, and a basic understanding of individual medley.
